My first trip to DC that wasn't

normalmar I went to DC for the first time yesterday, and it was pretty bad. =(
We decided to take the Marc up there for a couple of hours. I'd have liked to spend more time, but there wasn't really anything I could do. We were told we could wonder around and do whatever we wanted. So a couple of people asked me if I wanted to go wonder around to Chinatown with them, and get some lunch. I decided to go with them, just to get out, wonder around DC, figure out where some things are. Besides, I like the Chinatown atmosphere and hadn't had Chinese food in a while. So we arrive at DC and never once step foot outside of Union Station. My buddies just wondered around the Station. I wanted to actually go look around the city a little, but I didn't even know where I was and didn't feel comfortable going out alone. I'll definitely have the chance to go again, and I'll make sure I'm better prepared this time. But still, it feels like I wasted $10.

Date: 2008-08-16 07:14 pm (UTC)I hardly ever go to DC... I went to see Steven Colbert's portrait when it was in the national portrait gallery and I went for the cherry blossom festival. You should check out the city then, CB festival is a blast!
